It is coldest at the start of the main season (April) and warmest at the end of the main season (September) but all participants are provided with thick winter wetsuits to keep them warm.

Q: Where are we located?

We are located at Blue hills Cornish tin mine. Just type in ‘Blue hills cornish tin’ into google maps to find us. We would advise you to approach from the Southern side (St. Agnes) of Trevellas, via Wheal Kitty, as the road coming from the Northern side (Perranporth), is very narrow and not suitable for vans or larger cars. When you get to the bottom of the hill, near the tin mine, you will see our sign on the gate. Just come on in and we’ll be there to welcome you. Q: Can friends and family watch the session?

Yes, there is a perfect viewing area on a nearby headland which is close to the carpark.

Q: What age is suitable for coasteering?

The minimum age limit is 8 years old and all under 18s need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. There is no upper age limit as long as participants are physically able.

Q: Will coasteering be cancelled due to bad weather?

Big swell or high winds can cause sessions to be postponed or cancelled. If this happens there is sometimes the option for a surf lesson replacement session at St. Agnes beach, or you can choose to reschedule the session or receive a full refund.

Q: What if it is raining?

Coasteering doesn’t stop for the rain! We will be getting wet anyway!

Q: Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

Participants should be able to swim at least 50 metres but each session is tailored to the group’s ability and each segment of swimming is broken up with climbing, traversing or jumping. All participants wear a thick wetsuit and buoyancy aid, which makes staying afloat much easier.
